The Best Acne Cures - What Will Clear My Skin For Good?
The Best Acne Cures - What Will Clear My Skin For Good?
By Peter Crump
Acne is a uncomfortable and embarrassing skin condition that affects over eighty percent of people from their teens to their thirties, and yet, despite its prevalence, it remains a problem without a cure. This might be extremely disheartening news for the many people who suffer from it, but while medical science cannot yet fix the problem as they can a broken leg, medical advances in recent times have led to the formulation of many efficacious products that produce all the effects of what will hopefully one day be the best acne cures. And the best acne cures vary from person to person.
Acne is caused by the overproduction of the skin of oil called sebum, and the best acne cures would offer some foolproof way to regulate this. Unfortunately, the problem is not yet well enough understood to cure acne once and for all, but there are a range of topical and oral tools that can make management of the condition as effective as a cure. Sometimes age can be acne's natural cure, but for those who prefer to take a more proactive stance there are many products that can affect results similar to a cure.
One of the most effective oral treatments yet developed for acne is a medication that can be taken at home, simulating for many the effect of the best cures. Accutane must be prescribed first by a doctor, and though it must sometimes be taken for six months before a real improvement can be seen in the skin, the long-term results have been as positive as any cure. Accutane is a strong drug that can have harsh side effects, but it has cleared the skin completely of many acne sufferers. Your doctor will usually prescribe milder medications before trying Accutane, but for many sufferers for whom nothing else has worked, it can bring all the results of an acne cure.
For those suffering with milder forms of acne, there are many other products that can act as natural acne cures. Dietary supplements, such as folic acid, echinacea and zinc can have drastic effects upon the skin, without introducing harsh and alien chemical substances into the body. A healthy diet and a good cleansing routine are also extremely important, as these are the basic tools for healthy skin, that will give your body the tools it needs to fight acne effectively.
So, what are the best acne cures? They are around, but they vary from person to person according to the severity of the acne they suffer.

A Leaner and Meaner Payments Model
A Leaner and Meaner Payments Model
We Americans are fat cats. It's one of the reasons the country is in a recession. We have an insatiable appetite for everything, especially convenience, which makes us physically and intellectually lazy and much less introspective. Consumers expect three pharmacies on a high traffic intersection, four big shopping malls within fifteen minutes of each other, gourmet coffee on every block, and faster, fast food. When life is good, Americans seldom look around and think, what can we do without? But add a nasty recession to the mix, and things change. People are forced to figure out how to do more with less. Translate this reality into a business environment, and if the examination is done properly, the end result can be permanent employee cuts and a leaner, meaner business model. So if the country is waiting for the employment rates to recover, it may never happen.
After being forced to dig deep and reconfigure a more efficient business model, our payment services company discovered the recession was an eye opening opportunity in disguise. However, the reality was painful and sobering - - too many employees for the work load. It was painful because valuable employees had to go, yet sobering because it took a recession to build a stronger, more effective payments model with a brighter future. The most amazing discovery was productivity actually increased with fewer, better trained, and more motivated employees.
First, the senior team had to admit that there was definitely room for improvement and efficiency in the current operating system. The challenge was to see if employee costs could be trimmed, yet still provide a high quality payments service to the clients. The operating model had to be intricately dissected to better understand the specific skills required for each job. Employees came under scrutiny; how did they contribute to the effectiveness of the payments model? This examination meant thoroughly understanding their individual roles, responsibilities, skills, attitudes, hidden talents, performance levels, and willingness to learn, adapt, and meet new challenges.
Part of the process meant cross training employees on a variety of skills so they could step into several roles, if needed. Plus the training gave them a better understanding of the inter-working of all the payment services ranging from electronic check collection to automated payments, to check conversion. The company's commitment to the employees was to offer complete and accessible training for the new skills. The workload of individuals was measured and the results were monitored.
Employees were also challenged to ask for more responsibilities and encouraged to offer new ideas for efficiencies and improvements. Everyone had a fair and equal chance to succeed, however, job security was not assured. When their work expectations were raised, most employees responded with increased efforts and enthusiasm resulting in greater productivity.
The offer to expand learning skills and increase workload, however, was not easy for everyone. Obstacles appeared, defenses were up, and some felt threatened by the energized, competitive atmosphere. Ultimately, the employees were challenged to step up to the plate, display new power, raise their batting averages, or lose their positions. It became obvious who embraced the new challenges and opportunities for growth, and who did not. Slowly, the All-Star team positions were being chosen.
By reevaluating talents, diversifying job responsibilities, cross training employee skills, measuring performance, raising expectations, and increasing workloads, the company reduced its employee costs by 20%. The leaner staff felt more connected to the bigger picture because they had a greater understanding and participation in it. And guess what the effect of a smaller, improved team had on productivity - - it was higher. The re-energized team discovered they could do more with less; a novel idea for a fat cat.
It was agreed that Wall Street should not shoulder the entire blame for the country's poor economy; we all played a part in it. It took some work, but our payments company learned how to curb its appetite. If our experience is widespread among other businesses, employment rates will not be dramatically affected by an invigorated economy. Rather businesses need to find fresh opportunities to create new jobs for a changing, leaner economy.

Be Still And Wait For Your Blessings
Be Still And Wait For Your Blessings
Stories that I've been told about lifestyles in other countries lead me to believe that we Americans have a problem that is all our own. Since I can't call it human nature, I will call it American nature.
It can go hand in hand with our need for instant gratification. It can also pair up well with our need to control or fix everything. In general, I'm talking about our problem with being impatient.
When we find ourselves in a situation that is a bit uncomfortable, we try our hardest to get out of it. Sometimes, we move so quickly that we realize (too late) that the new situation is even worse than the one we just left. We just didn't take the time to carefully evaluate the consequences.
Genesis 26:3 gives us a few reminders about a better way to deal with our impatience.
Sometimes we have to wait
Genesis 26:3 tells us to "stay in this land for a while." Even when we are not happy with where we are in life, there are times when it is better to stay still. We don't know what God has in store for us, and we may never find out if we move too quickly.
We may not be extremely excited with our work environment. But, we do have a source of income. We may think we need a bigger house. But, our family is safe and warm. We may think we need a better car. But, we have reliable means of transportation. Have we really taken the time to appreciate the things we do have - the things that are truly considered luxuries in many other countries?
God is always with us
Everything that we endure has been allowed by God. He is always aware of our circumstances. God also reminds us in Genesis 26:3 that He will be with us. How quickly we forget when things take a turn for the worse that we can't get away from God.
When we run into a financial challenge that appears to be beyond us, we often try to fix it anyway. It may be better if we chose to stay still. Exodus 14:14 tells us, "The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still." (NIV)
Do we give God a chance to help us work through our problems, or do we only turn to Him after we make a bigger mess?
Granted, we may feel that we have been taken advantage of at work. We may feel that the creditors are not working with us. We may feel that we can just never get ahead because someone is always trying to hold us back.
David shares his thoughts on being still in Psalm 37:7. He writes, "Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes." (NIV)
God will bless us
We don't need to stress over the problems that other people try to bring our way. The third reminder in Genesis 26:3 is that God will bless us and confirm the oath He swore to Abraham. We are the descendants of an awesome promise. If we keep our eyes focused on God and not on our problems, He will direct us through those challenges and toward our promise.

Speaking Confidently Without Speaking - The Importance of Body Language
Speaking Confidently Without Speaking - The Importance of Body Language
By Jayne Latz
t is a surprising but true fact that verbal speech - the actual words you are speaking - only constitutes 7% of human communication. The other 93% is made up entirely of non-verbal cues - body language accounts for 55%; and tone 38%. These take the form of body posture, gestures, facial expressions, and eye movements. Although some of these cues are involuntary, there are several that can be consciously modified so that you can present an image of yourself that is confident, capable, and professional.
Posture Makes a Big Statement About What You're Saying
Perhaps the most instantly recognizable body language cue is posture. Consider for a moment how you usually stand or sit and how this might look to others. Do you sit up straight or do you slouch? Bad posture and rounded shoulders can communicate lack of confidence as well as lack of professionalism, even at a distance. On the other hand, standing or sitting rigidly can indicate that you are tense or ill at ease. A good rule of thumb is to aim for something in between. Stand or sit up straight with your shoulders slightly back and make sure that your chin is level with the floor. If standing, place your feet approximately shoulder width apart and concentrate on distributing your weight evenly. These tips combined with slow and steady breathing can give you a calm, natural, self-assured air. You can communicate that you are attentive and engaged by squaring your hips and shoulders to the person with whom you are conversing.
Gestures Can Show Nervousness - Or Confidence
Gestures are another major factor in good communication. Gesturing while you speak can help the listener to stay engaged and retain the information you are giving them. Some studies have even shown that the types of gestures you use can have a bearing on how you are perceived. For example there is evidence to suggest that those who gesture with open hands and palms upward are judged to be more open and honest. Consider the gestures you are using while you speak and whether or not they match up with the message you're trying to communicate. Also, try to avoid fidgeting. Many people unconsciously touch their rings, necklaces, ties, and hair while they speak and listen. This type of fidgeting in excess can communicate nervousness or lack of attention. As a general rule keep your hands still on the table in front of you or at your sides while you listen and then use them to gesture when it's your turn to speak.
Making use of these tips can greatly increase your ability to communicate effectively, but remember that the road runs both ways. You can also pay attention to these cues in others while you're speaking to them. Your conversation partner may never say that he or she is bored, confused, or upset, but by keeping the physical cues in mind you'll be able to read them. Using this information to tailor your own communication in turn can make you a very effective speaker and listener.
